We stayed at the Hotel Escorial for one week from 10/06 till 17/06 and we liked this place very much, the best thing is all inclusive system. Also we liked spa and cuisine. Thev location of the hotel is very comfortable.
Hotel offers very good relax activities in different premises and forms (inside or outside / individual or collectif = very interesting animation programme).
Limited acces to the internal Relax zone - closed in the evenings very soon. Low capacity of the massage services.
Very nice, friendly and willing staff and waiters. Perfect food with many choices. Nice spa, pool at the roof. Our room had a beautiful seaview (the others may have worse). Large balcony with table and big chair to relax.
Airconditioning is charged (we didn't need it though). Internet only at lobby (free, though). Found a bug last night.
The hotel has a wonderfull spa center that is completely free of charge for the hotel guests (except massage). The food is great. The hotel is situated near a beautiful beach. The parking is free. There is wireless in the lobby and several computers in the games room.
The rooms are old but the terrace is quite spacious and nice, although there is no good view. The parking is very small (up to 15 cars) so if you come back to hotel after 18h there is a chance that you won't find a place to park. No wireless in the rooms.
In essence Hotel is normal, but not good. Very good location for beach, for walking and for car or bus transfer. The room also was normal, about excellent.
The main problem of the hotel are restaurant and staff. During the check in they have took our passports (for check in in police, as they sat) and then... they have lost them! It was owful! And no sorry. They don't think that was a problem. Ok, than they have found. But never more in this Hotel. The second problem is restaurant: waiters and food. I don't know, what was better, both were owful. The drinks were as a cheepest drinks from the nearest discount supermarket, especially juices.
We stayed there for 7 days in April-11. All facilities deserve 4 stars, only the room qualify for 3 stars. There are a total of 5 pools where 2 inside. The 2 inside are free for hotel guests, and one of them is a very salty one about two feet deep. Outside there is a playground for kids that are enclosed. There is varied entertainment every evening in at the hotel bar. They even have a minigolf course in the second floor. The food is excellent. All inclusive available for an extra 15€ pr person per day. And then you get free lnch and all you want of liquids. They have a list of alcoholic drinks that are free for All Inclusive. Well worth it! They have a "solarium" on the top of the roof, seperate area for nudists. One shopping centre is very close to the hotel, and some more shops a few minutes walk away. Taxis are cheap, start price of 2,15€ and 2,04€ at nights. Takes a few minutes to go to other shopping centers in Playa del Inglés. Quick tip. Go to San Fernando to get even cheaper shopping.
Staff could be better in english, but they speak good german. Staff seemed very busy at times during dinner.
Facilities, especially the new wellness center, are great. Salty pool was my favorite. The food choice is overwhelming with some pleasant surprises like picnic takeaway and night snack included in Half board. Balcony was also nicely located and had sun all day. The receptionists are always there for you and very helpful once you get their attention. There were pleasant Christmas gifts for customers.
Negatives are very minor such as a bathroom curtain hanging not on the edge of the bathtub but to far inside it which makes it stick to your body when showering. Also, a couple of light bulbs were burned-out which made the light in the room dim. Receptionists are quite busy and it takes a couple of minutes for them to switch to you. Scheduled day activities and evening animations were not that interesting for young adults.
Infrastructure like wellness and Gym is good. However, Gym tools need some update.Buffett is good especially a lot of salads and vegetable.
Guests should be forced to take showers before entering the outside pool and wellness pool.
Food always the same and not very good
Our two week stay at the hotel was the most relaxing holiday that we have had in Grand Canaria - over a period of 23 years. The food was excellent, the atmosphere relaxing, the cleanliness excellent and the staff friendly and courteous. We hope to return early in the new year
The only concern that we had was that the chairs in the reception area were uncomfortable for my wife who has back pain following surgery
inner and outer pools, wellness facilities, playing space for children, big family room, excellent waiters, delicious cabbage salad, location close to the sea promenade
too much fried food in the buffet, funny washing machine
We both really enjoyed the excellent Spa facility on offer here. The staff were all very pleasant and friendly. The location and facilities throughout the hotel were superb and we would definately recommend it and look forward to returning.
we were half board and whilst the breakfast was excellent, I found the dinners could have more variety.
This hotel was clinically efficient but total lack of friendliness from staff, they seemed to be unwilling to speak English. As a solo traveller this made for a very quiet holiday. The food was ok but the wellness center was excellent
Total lack of atmosphere, found the food to be average & the carpets in the room needs to be replaced.
Very good hotel with excellent facilities and very very nice people.
Meals where not on the level of three star hotel. Drinks at the swiming pool bar were realy not good.
